Introduction to Merit Badges
Earning Merit Badges is one of the most fun and exciting parts of being a Scout. Where else do you get the opportunity to explore so many fun and exciting sports, hobbies and potential careers?
We are going to do our best to make the process of exploring the fun and exciting opportunities of earning Merit Badges as easy as possible for you. However, as a Scout, please remember that earning and completing your Merit Badge is ultimately up to you. Not your Scoutmaster, not your Parent and not even your Merit Badge Counselor.
There will be many opportunities throughout the year to earn Merit Badges. These will include Summer Camps, High Adventure Camps, Merit Badge Universities, Council and District Sponsored Merit Badge Classes as well as Troop Merit Badge Classes. Do not limit yourself to these opportunities. If you see a Merit Badge that seems interesting to you GO FOR IT! The Leaders and Parents of Troop 7862 will do our best to support you in your endeavor.
